All I remember from the Channel 5 launch era was the purdee colours.
What happened to Channel 5 comedy? Page 2
Quote: Winterlight @ September 1, 2007, 9:32 AMDo you remember when Channel 5 first launched? Well, I remember they showed the worst ever sketch show in the history of TV. I can't remember what it was called, but the one sketch I remember was a man walking towards the camera and simply saying "I've just done a poo". Even now, I still cringe.
That sounds a bit like We Know Where You Live? Had Sanjeev Bhaskar, Amanda Holden and Simon Pegg in it. It's coming out on DVD on Monday but I guess you won't be pre-ordering. See Amazon product listing
Little known fact: Tim Vine (Not Going Out) was the first man to appear on Channel 5. If you can bear the Spice Girls launching the channel you can see him looking really young on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYpsVBAzdjE
Didn't the Spice Girls open it?
Do you remember them?
I liked Respectable also for both reasons - and I'll quite happily let them have one of my sitcoms for a percentage of advertising revenue - or a free TV or stereo or something - anything!
I don't know about Charley though. She's just cheap!
David, you really need to read at least the previous few posts before replying!
Oh, Respectable was great.
I remember the first thing I saw was my sister nearly killing herself trying to pick up channel 5 then getting some documentry on long boats!
and darn about respectable.
