Writing Accessories - Hats, Pipes, Beards, etc

Seeing Tom Sharpe's pic up there, I was wondering if I should get a pipe. It's (slightly) interesting to look at writer's accessories:

Hat-Terry Pratchett

Beard-Dick Vosburgh, Alan Moore, Spike Milligan, Terry Pratchett.

Glasses-Barry Cryer, John Lennon (who wrote humourous books), Terry.

Moustache only-Not sure, possibly John Cleese.

Pipe: Tom Sharpe, Graham Chapman, P G Wodehouse.

Cigar: Groucho Marx.

Female effects are more hard to come by: I can't find a writer with a handbag in a Google search, so if there's a woman who wants to style herself as such that could work. What else could you have? Pimple? Wart? Curly hair? Lip pierced?

I could be wrong, but I think women can wear hats and glasses too.
Maybe even smoke. :O

I might start smoking a pipe...

A 'tache isn't unheard of, either.

True!

A nice full beard could be lovely, as long as it was well conditioned.

Sootyj- drinking hat with twin bottles of gin and a bucket

I can't particularly name any women writers who do.

I imagine 80% of writers of either gender wear glasses.

In order to find their naughty bits?

This man was the king when it came to accessories.

He was damn funny too.

That's why I wear 'em.

Men always make passes at girls with big glasses.

But surely you're a writer of one sex?

Never assume!

I think glasses or whatever need to stand out, to be proper accessories.

Jo Brand and Jenny Eclair both wear glasses that stand out.
