The creator of Wilt, Skullion and Blott has died.
Could we have him as tomorrow's header, or one of his characters?

Ohthat's a shock.
I loved his stuff.
I read all the Tom Sharpe books when I was a kid. Great shame he has passed away. My favourite was Ancestral Vices, Sharpe was a man who created a world of his own much as Wodehouse did. RIP
The bawdy covers (usually showing fat women) of the Pan paperback editions deterred me from reading his novels when I was a polite teenager. I assumed they would be more smut than clever. Then read Porterhouse Blue (which had been spared a lewd cover) and enjoyed.
Meanwhile, Leslie Thomas is still going.
The covers oddly enough enticed me.
Porterhouse Blue is great but I think the killers is either Wilt or Riotous Assembly.
Constable Els speach about stuffing a dead doberman almost crippling me.

Sharpe's stuff was very cartoony and I loved reading the books but I much preferred Leslie Thomas. Unfortunately as far as I'm aware he hasn't written anything for about 10 year.
Wilt and Riotous Assembly were hilarious and are probably the only books I've ever laughed out loud to. RIP indeed.
Loved Wilt.
