Marc is the Uncle Monty of these forumns.

It would be up to Norfolk! ;)

It would be up Morfolk! ;)

Cad, bounder, villain, white slaver!

Not if you arrived by boat.

From the south coast to Norfolk by boat would still be up lol

Maybe he's not coming from the south coast. Maybe he has emigrated and now lives in a small Norwegian fishing village, spending his days catching salmon, drinking mugs of beer and charming the local ladies.

Jennie it's fascinating how you seem to be describing Mr Cotter as some sort of ideal match.
Can't say I blame you, he does have a smouldering intensity. And a very sharp suit he was recently photographed in.

When did I imply that?

Half an hour ago you were suggesting he was having a passionate affair with Marc.

In case you were wondering, I am definitely not a man.

I hope people still talk about me when months after I have left BCG.

Oh just the image of him ruggedly hauling fish from the frigid, Norwegian coast. Not suggested anything merely the timbre of your phrasing.

And I think I was implying Marc held a candle for young Cotter, as so many of us still do.

A heart-chilling way of making any decision not based around turkeys.

It will be a very sad day indeed when you decide to leave BCG! :( I for one will still talk about you years after!
(In a nice way, not the obsessive stalker kind of way! lol)

:)

I may have to ration my messing around on BCG time. :( It does not assist with getting writing done!

I dunno, I think it helps.

Kinda like getting into scraps at pubs makes you a better fighter.

Putting crap in critique, bad puns, messing around with other peoples posts.

Has I reckon handed me some very real useful skills, lucrative ones at that. It's some times when being a bit of a wally that you come across that pearl of a line or character trait that brings stuff together.

writing is all about listening.

writing is all about listening.

But can one listen on a forum? Is it really possible to observe the minutiae of human behaviour from an Internet website? People choose to present themselves in a certain way, often very different to their real life persona.

I like listening. I'm trying to improve my dialogue by sitting in my favourite cafe and eavesdropping on conversations. I then make two columns, one entitled 'what is said' and the other entitled 'what is meant'. For example, someone might say 'where did you get your dress from?' But what they mean is 'I like that dress and might want to buy it myself.'

I know sitting around writing down conversations sounds creepy, but I've found it quite useful.

I imagine it is helpful if you use it as you do Soots. I love Critique, I love Writer's Discussion and learn a lot from them. It's General Discussion that's my nemesis :)
