Howdy Chums came up with this idea last night whilst eating my tea. Be good to hear what you think.
The First Dalek Stand Up Comedian: Animated
Your animation is spot on and the idea is very good.
The only thing that lets it done is that its very short and the joke is far too bog standard.
All this needs is three good jokes and it works perfectly.

Hi mate,
Cheers for that, fair point about the joke. I will have a think on it and try again.
You could have a human shape in a triangle with a red line through it on the wall behind the stand up Dalek.
Then have three jokes about humans that can actually be piss poor but really derogatory and as he gradually gets the crowd going the Daleks in the crowd start shooting all over the place.
Then a human MC comes onto the stage to ask the crowd to show their appreciation of the act and then the stand up shots him dead.
Then all the Daleks start shouting Destroy.
Ha, like Teddy's ideas but they would be more fitting for a different sketch.
I think it works as is, short and sweet, the idea alone of a Dalek doing standup is funny.

I like the 'Live at the Apollo' Theme. Maybe if I did a 3 minute one with other Doctor who villains doing stand-up as well. Like the Angels, Cybermen the Silence etc

Gavin as a non doctor Who fan I would have to say that straying from the Daleks would dilute its overall appeal as people would have no idea who the other arch villains are?.
Live from the Apollo is a great idea especially if the show is on the moon and the Apollo in question has crashed landed and the Daleks are having an improv in front of it.
Not being a Who fan, it didn't do much for me in that regard. I actually find the whole Dalek thing annoying... but putting that aside I thought the animation, art and everything else was great. I assumed it was more of a test then a full sketch, next time you'd definitely do even better with better jokes.
Cheers Teddy, I do like the comedy infront of the crashed shuttle Idea.
And cheers Mr Lee for taking a gander It's a production/workflow test if people like the Dalek thing I'll do more, if not, hey ho it's only 6 hours.
Is it worth considering Dalek 'observational' comedy?
In the old days it would have been " What is it with stairs?" - you know the kind of thing.
A sort of Dalek Peter Kaye??

Lol That could be a runner, there are loads of gags could do going down that avenue.
This is in the noble tradition of Victor Lewis Smith's Gay Daleks and Spike Milligan's Pakistani Daleks.
It's well animated but I agree with Teddy, the joke's not right. I'd like to see him do a string of 'take my wife..' jokes that all end in exterminate, with a poncy bottled lager on the end of his sucker.

Lol A poncy bottled lager and a half opened shirt
I think from the response there is enough legs here to give the old boy another crack at the whip with a longer routine.
The problem is with the WW2 Daleks even the show it's self is in on the joke.

Dalek bread? DALEK. BREAD?
