Interesting that the guy representing the lower classes had the best manners.

Great opening show, good quality content.
My only slight reservation is with the production. Yes, the Americans do this sort of thing very well, but that doesn't mean we have to copy them, and sometimes the Americanised bits of this show, particularly the rocking musical links, grate against the Britishness of the rest. Why not use quirky British music?

I don't know how much of the around table material is scripted but her and Brooker always seem uneasy with Jimmy Carr's quips. I really like Charlie but his bewilderment appears put on and his snipe at Jimmy "What's your advice on avoiding attacks (a tax)" came across as a bit of a ploy to put distance between him and the "bad tax avoider man"

If they ditched Lauren I think no one would complain, even she would shrug her shoulders and agree that she was a dead weight.

That was good. The debate looked like it might spiral out of control, Mitchell probably needs to be more forceful in keeping everyone in check. Laughed a lot though. I actually though Lauren Laverne was better this time, she actually got some laughs. I don't mind her as much as others do, she sort of acts as the glue that keeps the other three together. Although I suppose if she wasn't there, Mitchell would be the one to take command and lead them into the next section.

But by the end of the satirical show an hour later, just 239,000 were remaining, according to overnight Barb figures supplied by Attentional.

Overall, the episode - presented as always by Lauren Laverne, Charlie Brooker, Jimmy Carr and David Mitchell - averaged 919,000 viewers, below the 1.16 average for that slot.

But it wasn't on for a full hour, it ended at 10:55. Does that figure in fact include five minutes of the following programme, which had been shunted into a graveyard slot after flopping in primetime?
