Teddy is at the Ready

For the first time ever I have been given a paid job as a freelance writer. I have been accepted by a greetings card company.
It may not mean much to many but for me it means an awful lot as I am at the lowest financial point in my life so it's a blessing rather than a world breaking opportunity.

I am currently sending off my invoice and signing off on the copyright as directed and I will be paid directly into my bank.

I don't often share personal data but the idea of being able to pay my bills via my pen is for me extremely significant point and has lifted my spirits no end.

So I just thought I would share a positive after oh so many negatives and hope it inspire me to push my other stuff forward.

As someone who as never been paid to write anything I can only imagine how good that feels... but I suspect even the most prolific writers on here, or anywhere, can remember that first one.

Enjoy it because you've earned the right to. I was going to write a verse to celebrate your achievement, but f**k that there are people who get paid for that.

Nearly but I think I'll opt for a cloak as well.
That way everyone in Tesco will know that I am now a paid writer
(Plus I can get a few legs of lambs under the cloak)
