Good cheese!

My overall point on here is that I think it's normal to curse someone who's doing well in your chosen field, if you're currently not. I think it's only natural.

I also don't think people should be giving away too many hints and leads because it may just backfire.

Again, its not 'natural' because I certainly don't feel that about these forums and quite a few people have said the same. Its how some people feel. It seems some people use these forums as an extension to their real life and bring all their emotions with it. As I said before, I use it as a place to get inspiration and discuss ideas as well as offer advice that is related to writing. The better the writers are here the better I will benefit and I've always tried to offer advice and support back, I thought that was the whole point of the Writers Discussion?

I don't like people discouraging, I think they should leave the rest of us to get on with it as some people have already expressed concerns about posting ideas, leads, updates because of the people in this thread.

Any further developments with your script Sam?

I sent the first 10 pages of my sitcom to John at Baby Cow around the middle of August and I got an email yesterday asking for the full script. So that's small progress.

Well done Martin. *claps*

Agreed - well done! - or are we supposed to hate you in this thread... ;)

I've already sent something, which got rejected. Pooey! So, I may send something i've been working on again. Congrats Martin.

Well done Martin, Ive just emailed them the first few pages of something, so fingers crossed. Though they have rejected something ive sent them before, so maybe Im just rubbish.

Thanks guys and gals. I sent them a script last year that got rejected but I can see why, I was still in the early stages of sitcom writing and was stupid to send it off really. I'm glad I only sent it to Baby Cow and not loads of companies though.

But yeah I'm really proud of the current script, I posted a couple of sample scenes in the Critique forum a couple of months back actually.

I remember reading that. I was really impressed. Good luck with it.

Links, please? I only ask because I really can't be bothered to troll through months and months of stuff.

Good luck. I can imagine Baby Cow liking the Toll Booth opening scene.
Did you leave the AA gag in??

We re-worded it and made it flow better.

Anyway here are the links for those that are interested:

Yeah I read them first time around and liked them then. The toll booth has some good gags and the action in the shop is good. It will be interesting to see what Baby Cow say to the rest of the script! As before, good work and good luck! :)

Cool, thanks Martin, will have a read. Good luck, you could be the first to move on to bigger and better things.

That's excellent, Martin! Well done.
They rejected me the other day. But as everyone else says, it was a very quick response!
