I've just watched an episode of Pie in the Sky which is being repeated on Drama,
I always thought he was a great actor and just been reading a bit about him. Apparently his parents were both deaf and dumb. Also he was very underweight until he had some treatment on his pituitary gland.
In this episode his wife asked him who he had a crush on when he was 15. He said Sandie Shaw. A man after my own heart.
The only very, very tenuous link I have with him is that back in the early 80s my wife and I considered buying the restaurant where Pie In The Sky was filmed - the restaurant was in Old Hemel Hempstead and is still there I think.
