I can't believe no sod knows who that woman was. Even Aaron is only "quite sure" it wasn't Tessa PJ.

Small bit-parts like hers are rarely credited. In the scripts, the role is named only as 'Voice'. I am as certain as I can be without going through the BBC Archives for artist contracts, that the woman in question is not Tessa Peake-Jones.

Yeah, but scroll down. One of the posts says: "Correct - Tessa was asked if it was her and she made it clear that it was not - although it does sound like her"

Or was THAT the definitive answer? Peake-Jones said "No" in an interview? Ok.

It doesn't really sound all that much like her. It's a London-ish accent certainly, but too high pitched. And apart from being brunette, her appearance is all wrong. The woman in episode one has very prominent upper teeth, a clear overbite that TPJ does not possess; and large, rounded, chubby cheeks - again, something not really in TPJ's facial structure.

Wow, a detailed analysis. Did you freeze-frame and enlarge it? Thanks Aaron.

Oldrocker's link revealed Trigger's name (Colin Ball). I really didn't know that.

I did freeze-frame, but enlargement wasn't necessary.

I've just watched it four or five times and it's so dark there I can barely see a person !

Mind you. I'm on a pc not a 47" plasma.

You may need to adjust the brightness/contrast on your screen then. Most monitors have an auto adjust button/option. No idea about laptops.

Or his eyes?
;)

Still, it's amazing how we refuse to give up on this "Tessa Peake-Jones Mystery". Real comedy fans are worse than Columbo.

I'm impressed! I'll take your word for it that it's not Tessa, though I would have to disagree with you in not sounding like her.
