Clement & La Frenais

Just watched the interview last night. I can't see another thread specifically for them.

They wrote one of my favourite shows of all time - Auf Weidersehn Pet - and of course wrote The Likely Lads, Steptoe and Porridge amongst many other things.

Interesting to hear about the Harry H Corbett project which apparently didn't work and brought them down to earth after the success of The Likely Lads.

Steptoe? I'm only a quarter way into the show so far, but are you sure?

Sorry - Galton and Simpson.

I remember one frustrating session once, back in the 1990s, trying to diagnose why Dick Clement was unable to connect his modem to transmit a script to the UK, he was in Los Angeles at the time and I was here in London.

I think we did succeed in the end.

Very enjoyable. Could have happily watched an hour or two more. Refreshing humility about them, and seem as sharp as ever. Love their movie, Still Crazy.

Would have liked to have heard more about their movie experiences, such as why their Peter Sellers film is something they're embarrassed about.
