Oh shame. I met him once when I was doing the 'electrics' for a stage.

I could do a lame version of his broken microphone routine and I did it to him as he walked in. He went straight into his chicken routine although there were only him and me in the room.

One of the old school good comedians

RIP

I only really knew him from the microphone routine but that did always make me laugh. RIP.

He was booked in a Workie's Club came into the Bar and without introduction commenced to mime a competitive game of darts ; Doesn't sound much; it was gut belly funny. Then he quietly left without a word. Top man

Your electrics gave him the idea, didn't it? Or is that slander?

He also did a very funny "winding up car window while shouting" routine.

A truly great and sadly unsung comedy hero, he never really gained the recognition a true original like him deserved. The chicken, the faulty mic etc, God bless you Norman you made me laugh a lot.

VERY funny man.

His routines never failed to have me guffawing.

God Bless you Norman - I'll be digging out your gigs from my DVDs tonight!
