Not much about this project fills me with confidence; except for the set, which is admittedly fantastic.

Will have to wait and see how it turns out... Glad you like the set.
Everyone said we would never get the set built but we managed it... Never give up. Give anything a go once and if it doesn't work, don't be frightened to try something else... Lets wait and see
Buy a better microphone before buying a new camera. Watching stuff on the internet, there's less emphasis on 1080p HD 16:9 SUPERVISION, plus there are digital photo cameras that can do just as well (for small internet videos). The microphone you are currently using sounds like it's recorded from a mobile phone, imagine if ITN used the same audio quality? They have big booming drum beats and loud angry voices.
"TONIGHT AT 10 MOTHERFUCKERS - *BONG* - YOU@RE ALL GOING TO DIE - *BONG*"
Here's another idea! Don't ask for investors to invest in your vanity project. Ask for cameramen who will work for free or a small fee. Make contacts, not money.
Very True Lee.. We do have a range of really good mikes, but they plug directly into the camera... The camera I used for that is like a £60 Panasonic camcorder and it doesn't have a mike jack so had to use the crap built in mike which truly is poor... I have tried looking for a camera man but not many work for free or if they will don't posses their own camera... Still looking however.
Don't record audio into a camera. Do it separately. You need a good mic and cheap laptop. In the edit, put them together.
So to all who have read the idea... What don't you like/do like about the concept...etc All feedback if constructive is extremely useful... I want it to do well so any input and advice is really appreciated
Why TIT News? Sounds a bit crap, sorry.
Because The Day Today was already taken.
I did think about that, but find Final Cut Pro X Shit for lip syncing the audio back on... Final Cut Pro 7 was much better for that.... Also had problems of thinking it was synced as the viewer in final cut X was showing it to be ok but when exported to MOV the words was lagging... Tried troubleshooting and re downloading final cut pro X and still no change... Final Cut Pro 7 should ever have been discontinued...
TIT News was the original working name, we never changed it because nothing better came up... Not to late to change it so if you got anything better please share it... In the end, if its not funny it won't work so all input is important.
I agree that it might be a good idea to change the name. I think if you're asking people for money, the current name is likely to put a lot of people off. They're not going to want to get involved with something that sounds like soft porn.
If you can't come up with a funny, clever and relevant name then what faith can we have in the rest of the writing?
Are news shows really called "news" any more? Do they sit behind a desk still or stand up in front of it? Are they fronted by people as young as you?
I don't want to keep shitting on you because you're obviously passionate and that's great! But I can't see a young Chris Morris here, quite just yet!
Haha cheers Lee, the name is my fault, I came up with the name however I don't write nor have input in the scripts... I see where your coming from with the all those comments but traditionally news is two anchors behind a desk andthat's the format we chose, sky sports news still apply the same format.
Congrats Luke on all your hard work as the set looks great. The venture itself seems awfully difficult as £500 is a lot of money to raise bit by bit, I personally don't have a pot to pee in (and it's very cold running down the stairs to the loo these nights I can tell you) and besides while the self funding project is admirable, I think there are other ways... Like someone suggested YouTube or why not a blog? ways that won't result in crushing disappointment if you can't reach the target amount. Best of luck with it
The name is a bit naff and just pidgeonholes the whole thing.
Thanks Shandon... The name is defo going to go back to the drawing board as it is as you say a poor name... Branding it right is important.
I really believe in the concept. The scripts written for us are fantastic, the name doesn't represent the kind of humour used in the script so will be changed.
Thanks all for that advice
Great avatar Luke, and of course creating one means you're one of us now for your sins
