Also R- No, bad Aaron.

Pinning all my hopes on The Armstrong and Miller Show, I've watched so many new comedy shows lately and only laughed once or twice at most in half an hour. Comedy shows are supposed to make you laugh still aren't they?

I have to say, of all the different ways people complain about comedy, I hate this one the most. I just have to hear someone say:

"I thought comedy was supposed to be FUNNY??!!?!!"

and I'm running for my shotgun to make the world a better place.

"hey I just noticed something - I always thought comedy shows are meant to be funny but... get this... this one wasn't!! Anybody else ever noticed that? WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT, HUH??? WHAT'S GOING ON HERE??"

In all seriousness, how should people complain about comedy?

"I didn't like it" is fine with me.

"It wasn't funny" is fine with me.

"It was shit" is fine with me.

"I thought comedy was supposed to be funny??" phrased as a question is not fine. Like you're supposed to say "Do you know, you're right - it is!!!"

PS Smelly, my original post included the following 'I've watched so many new comedy shows lately and only laughed once or twice at most in half an hour' That is my real gripe.

Smelly

I don't know. It seems a perfectly legitimate way of expressing dissatisfaction with comedy in general. Also, the person might be saying it to kick of a full and frank debate.
