Oooh wow, have you gone and breathed in some John Simm/Gene molecules.
Yummy.
(Where is it filmed anyway? I don't even know for sure what city it's set in...)

Oh yes, several times! Gutted I didn't know about it at the time!
It's set and pretty much filmed in Manchester (some where I work at the Uni), but tonight's was filmed at a mill in Oldham. Yey!
Woo hoo! You should go and touch that chimney wall thingy Simmsy boy kept touching.
I always get confused about where it's set, cos some of them sound Londony.
Yes, and then the sequel is in London. Which is a shame because by the time I had a handle on where they filmed it, they buggered off!
Phil (like I know him ) does a very creditable Manc accent for a Southerner though.
And sadly the chimney is behind locked gates, but I have driven past it more times than are healthy though!

Ah that's probably what confused me, I watched all of that one. For my sins...
Hee, driving past chimneys. The things we do!
3rd Rock From The Sun.
Outnumbered from last night.
Those kids are brilliant!
I'd dearly love to be watching The Wire and Dexter, but haven't got the bastard FX channel!
They so are. I forget how good the oldest boy is, cos I'm always cooing over the little girl.
Isn't he the son of two porn stars or something? I want a film made of his life, please. With him as the star, naturally.
Seriously?? He's got a weird name in real life - I know that much.
The little girl is a joy: "In England we call them biscuits".
In fact the whole ensemble is great. Samantha Bond is great as the Auntie and Hugh Dennis and Claire Skinner are really believable as the parents.
Tyger Drew Honey!

They have quite worryingly awakened some very weird urge in me to marry someone nice like Hugh Dennis and have a nice middleclass house and kids in a nice middleclass road in London though...
Scary stuff.
Ooooo. Now I *have* to buy the DVD! I watched Outnumbered when it was first broadcast and now I can't find it anywhere.
The kids are amazing. But Samantha Bond always reminds of that unpleasant Jane Austen character she played in the 80s. Was it Mansfield Park?
Quote: zooo @ August 26 2008, 3:23 PM BSTTyger Drew Honey!
That's it!
I've just looked him up - yes:
He is the son of actor and pornographer Simon Lindsay Honey and ex adult model Linzi Drew
They've made an American version now: http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt1206661/
Why do they have to do that??

Yep! Agreed.

It's out on DVD in October apparently (seems a long way away).
I don't remember the Jane Austen thing?

I've looked it up. Turns out I own the DVD. It's the 1983 mini series of Mansfield Park. She plays Maria Bertram.
