The Antiques Roadshow 'best bits' last night.

A man brought a 'what looked like' a vintage port bottle from the early 1800's
It was still sealed with a cork and full of liquid.
The expert asked if he could open it to see what state the liquid was in.
The owner agreed and told him he had found it hidden in brickwork at his house during renovations.

The expert poured some in a glass and had a taste - he said it was vile.

As an update, it was sent to a lab to define the contents.
They then told a story of how in those days, if you built or bought a house it was the practice to get the local witch to urinate in the bottle to ward off bad spirits etc.

It came back and it was 150 year old piss.

Perhaps that's where the saying 'tastes like witch piss' comes from.

That's one brave expert! I wouldn't drink it.

Money Heist: Well, after 5 Seasons (or Parts as they call them) and 41 episodes, this fantastic series is over. Genuine feeling of loss at having to say goodbye to these marvelous characters. TV at it's very best. If you've not seen it yet , I'm insanely jealous.

I think I saw the first episode, or it might have been another series.
Did they rob a massive bank and trap everyone inside until it became a stand-off with the police.

That's the one - but, needless to say, it develops a lot more storylines over the next 4 seasons
They all had red jump-suits and Dali masks.
It was Spanish with subtitles.

Right. I don't know why I didn't watch more. Probably too many series to watch at the time.
Maybe Better call Saul was airing. (And the last series is coming soon)
It'll go back on the list.

Indeed - too much to watch, too little time.
But, as you say - a good one to have on the list - there's plenty there!

I think the only policeman or woman I've seen in about 10 years are the ones of tv

You never see them in the flesh anymore

You see dozens at Sutton United football matches which of course is a hotbed of violence.

I thought it was the criminal defending...

I've also finished two episodes, and I feel the same way.

If you watch it all I think you get some sort of explanation.

Just watched my old Spice Girls DVD. Still stands up.

Surprised it hasn't come off in your hand, the number of times you partake.

It'll be streaming next.

The Big Freeze: Winter of 1963 on channel 5.

A winter in which Londoners took to wearing masks to avoid contamination, medical experts warned vulnerable people not to go out, lives and livelihoods were lost, the price of food was on the rise, there was a scarcity of gas and heating homes was a problem for many. The taxpayer took a big hit, Britain was governed by an old Etonian leading a scandal-hit Conservative government that had been in office for 12 years, a minister was accused of lying to Parliament and tensions had reached a climax between Russia and the west.

The three one hour progs on BBC2 at the weekend, celebrating Stevie Wonder - absolutely brilliant. What a talent he has! Had all his songs in my head since.
