Joey did actually end up getting a couple of crystals though, didn't he? Despite being an utter plank.
Ayoade is perfect. Especially with his fake hand because he doesn't want to touch any of them.

utter plank :D yep to be fair he did get a few crystals but in one where he had to get across water it was very easy for him to do it but he was pretending it was difficult and there should be none of that because it's all against the clock. It can mean the difference between getting an extra challenge in at a zone before moving on. Next week is Rylan Clarke which will be interesting. I like Rylan and he is a good presenter but I can see him also playing up to the camera like Joey did. Hopefully Ayoade will become more authoritative as the series progresses.

Jodie was amazing and there was one that she didn't manage but some she went in and instantly knew what had to be done. In the words of Alan Partridge "Ooh, I'd love to have it off with her".

I think Rylan might be quite good, actually. He doesn't tend to act up for the camera when it's serious business (which of course Crystal Maze very much is). Is he going to be the captain?

I'm not sure if Rylan is the captain but I hope he is as I think he could do a good job. He's from a reality TV background which I'm always dubious of but he's prooved he has genuine presenting skills and is a likable character.

What would be your choice for the super duper prize? Mine would be a day at the SAS base in Hereford. Meeting troops and watching them training. Then off to a pub for some hardcore boozing where I beat the best pool player and celebrate by being carried around on the shoulders of SAS troopers who later give me their mobile numbers for free bodyguard services before the taxi arrives to take me home. What a night!

Sounds bloody marvellous to me.

I just watched Celebrity Mastermind.

Firstly I've no idea who any of the Celebrities were.

Secondly a woman - apparently an athlete - chose Arsenal as her specialist subject. She scored 3 and I scored 6!

Thirdly they asked a young woman what she does on TV. Her first word was "So,,,," Aaaarggghhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

i then scored 30 in the general knowledge rounds - well 7, 8, 7 and 8! To be fair though apart from the athlete it was a very high scoring show - and she scored zero!

Only watched the first girl (who? dunno) as she had chosen Jurassic Park (first film?) as a subject and I have to say I was impressed with her knowledge of it.

If I can answer one question during an entire episode of University Challenge then I'm happy. I was never academic and most of the questions on that quiz show make me tilt my head like a confused dog. I love the episode with the Hapax Legomenon guy who had an amazing run of correct answers and became an overnight sensation. I bet his biggest prize from that episode happened behind closed doors. Oooo yeahhhh.

Just finished watching The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp that I recorded off The Beeb over the weekend (?) - an enjoyable bit of hokum with a number of good laughs. Well worth the look in .:)

I somehow have never even heard of that. Looks quite good!

Didn't do well with the critics or at the cinema. I remember the TV series well and this is about how the The Lone Ranger became "lone" and joined up with Tonto (Johnny Depp) all set against a sort of "How the West was won"
As I say, I enjoyed it.

I was sort of watching it too for the first time.

Dad's Army.
The episode where they think they're in France. Laughing out loud

"La gare est Eastbourne, actually" :D

Good one, but aren't they all - was going to watch it but digi-box went wrong. :(

Just watching a 1975 film called "Can You Keep It Up For a Week". Which is an innuendo laden sub-confessions type film staring Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett).
