Bender.

The Returned. I wish they had a "Previously on..." bit at the start of each episode.

Spectacular Tour de France award ceremony!

It gets better and weirder very week. I shall be quite sad when the series ends.

It is rather excellent. Especially now it's all going a bit apocalypsey.

The Secret Life of Uri Geller.

Can't believe BBC2 is indulging this sad little man with his tales of using his paranormal powers to knock out radars during the Entebbe hostage crisis.

Did the CIA also hire Rod Hull and Emu? they got a three decade career out of a 15 minute act as well.

Why do you call him a sad little man?

Well sad tall wirey man to be accurate. Any third rate conjuror who wants us to believe he has magic powers for forty years is suffering from arrested development. Like the psychiatric nurse that salutes patients who believe they are Napoleon, its probably safer to indulge him.

I'm not convinced that wanting us to believe his powers is sad; he has done very well by it. It could be a very savvy move on his part.

Perhaps those who believe it are the sad ones, or even those who don't. The impression I got from the programme is that we don't actually know one way or the other.

I did think the programme was a load of nothing though. Hints of this, suggestions of that, evasive answers from contributors;I'm not sure what the point of it was but I bet it made a shed load more money for Mr Geller.

I got the impression from the programme that he is a massive twat. As demonstrated here by Johnny Carson and James Randi nearly 35 years ago-

And yes perhaps those who believe it are the sad ones.

Didn't he introduce Michael Jackson to Martin Bashir? And it was that mauling at the hands of Martin Bashir that led directly to Michael Jackson's death ... and to Diana's.

Geller certainly has a talent for schmoozing I'll give him that.

He bent a solid silver spoon in front of me once. He hadn't had access to it previously and it was me who balanced it on his finger. It wasn't done on stage or as a performance. Whatever the truth about his 'powers' I can't explain how he did that.

Count Arthur Strong.

A fascinating documentary on the classic Cleopatra movie on BBC 4.
