True; I do think most people just didn't really want anymore though. I loved The X-Files when it was on, but I haven't watched the latest film, and have no desire too. Perhaps not enough time had passed from the show ending for it to gather nostalgic interest; it was a bit too late to assume anyone was still interested, and a bit too early for people to have a renewed passion for it.

Talking of which, franchise resurrection seems to happen quicker and quicker nowadays. It only seems 5 minutes since Sam Rami's Spiderman films and we've already got a reboot. And I expect that as soon The Dark Knight Rises comes out they'll be talking about a new star and director to refresh the franchise.

It's been too succesful not to. Be different this time though, for me at least, as Nolan's was coming after the franchise had been turned into something pathetic, you were happy to see a new take from a respected director; this time it's coming of something so good you can only fear that it'll go downhill again.

I'd rather they left the Batman/Spiderman/Superman franchises alone and tried to develop lesser known ones*. Not least because we all know how Spiderman and Superman etc came to be, and yet every time they do a new one they have to tell the same sodding story all over again.

*Not Thor.

I'd rather they moved from Superheroes now. We've had all the good ones. New ideas and characters please Hollywood.

Traffic Cops - Aww the off duty lady policeman is crying because she got a fixed penalty notice for chatting on her phone whilst driving. Boo f**king hoo.
