This questionnaire is for use with an undergraduate dissertation being undertaken this year at the University of the West of Scotland. It relates to the reception of Scottish comedy programmes Gary: Tank Commander and Limmy's Show in the West of Scotland and in Greater Manchester.
Gary: Tank Commander has been broadcast on BBC Three in the whole of the UK and Limmy's Show has not yet been broadcast out of Scotland, although it is available on BBC iPlayer.

1) Where did you first see either of these programmes? (Television, iPlayer, somewhere else) or where did you hear about them?
2) If you have not seen the programmes yourself, what have you heard about them?
3) Is there anything in particular that you liked or disliked about either programme? Why do you think you felt this way?
4) Do you have any links to Scotland? (Family, friends, holidays etc.)
If so, do you think this would have made you more likely to seek out and view either programme?
If not, do you think this would have made you less likely to view them?
5) Do you feel that you can relate to the character of Gary? (his family situation, career etc.)
6) Comparably, are there characters in Limmy's Show (such as Dee Dee and Jacqueline McCafferty) that you can identify with? Why is this?

7) Are there any particular examples of dialect that you felt did/would not translate well? (in either programme)
8) In relation to representations of "Scottishness" in comedy -
Are there any Scottish characters that you have seen that you felt you could relate to? Why?
9) Do you think such programmes could appeal to a national UK wide audience - if so why? Or if not, please explain.
