I've chatted to you about the Lotus before, have you actually been able to get it on the road and drive it?

In other gentlemen's business - has anyone ever shaved with a proper cut throat razor? I had it done at the barbers once, but I would never consider buying one and fussing about with the little shaving foam brush and whatnot.

No, I can barely trust myself with a cartridge razor. If I used a straight razor I'd end up severing my chin.

Not yet, I have done over 200,000 miles in her in the past, but she has been off the road for the last 2 or 3 years with a broken head.

As mentioned before I do now have a new head for her and it has been fitted and the engine works fine. If I were to refit the driving seat it would be physically possible to go driving now.

But to be legal, I first have to uprate my insurance to on-the-road and then the only first legal trip is a visit to a pre-arranged MOT test. Once past the MOT test I apply for a tax disc. Being a pre-1972 car the tax disc must be obtained but the price is NIL. Only then is it all legal.

But before taking it for an MOT I want to fit this new set of brake pipes that I have here and this involves lifting the car onto supports and taking the wheels off. There is not room to do this inside my garage and at present it has been too perishing cold to work outside. And what with pre & post Christmas activities, I've decided to wait for warmer weather.

Another factor is that getting the MOT now in winter would mean that next year & subsequent years I would always be doing pre-MOT checks (crawling under jacked up car etc) in the winter in the same month, so again it suits' to wait for warmer weather.

THIS is real Gentlemen's Business!!

When I had "the snip", I had to shave....er, ummm.......'down there' and decided to try it with a cut-throat - Boy!! Was that scary........

I was then told later that if I hadn't done it myself then a nurse would have to do it pre-op......DO'H (Kenneth Connor NOT Homer!)
BUT some good came of it as she had to pick off all the little bits of toilet paper I had used on the shaving nicks - took her ages. :P

Not really page 3 but the H & M ad campaign with Natasha Henstridge in the 90s caused many car crashes as I remember. And I remember being really thrilled by the posters...ok, I was in my teens but anyway she was hot.

On the shaving subject; I had to go in hospital a while back to have a stent put in one of my heart ateries.
They go in through the femoral artery right next to your bollocks.

The nurse brought me a razor and a shaving brush and a pot of foam. She told me to shave every hair off from that area.

Apart from the embarrassment of doing it in the toilets with one foot on the sink while all and sundry walked in, it's bloody hard to get in all the nooks and cranies.

I was on the operating table (awake) and the surgeon was preparing to go in when he said something to the nurse. Not only that, there was about 15 student watching through a viewing window.
She came back with another razor and foam and started shaving the bits I had missed. Talk about lay back and think of England while someone fiddles with your tackle while you try find a place to look where someone isn't looking at you.

There are websites devoted to that.

:O
And they wonder why people don't go to the doctor.
