Christmas 2012 Page 2

Christmas Eve on BBC HD features a repeat of the Victoria Wood turkey from 2009. It's unlikely to have improved in the intervening years. It's opposite Open All Hours and Porridge on BBC2 and East Enders on BBC1, Norman Wisdom on BBC4, Coronation St and the Spice Girls on ITV. It's like the last two decades didn't happen, really.

Mr Stink might be fun, and Outnumbered is reliable even if the kids must be teenagers by now, but the rest is deeply uninspiring.

Christmas is a time when generations of the same family are locked in miserably together, all unable to do their own thing, and dependent on decent family viewing to avoid having to talk to one another. Don't TV companies get this?

The Royle Family best be worth the two year wait.

Apparently the Doctor Who storyline was based on a script by Douglas Adams-mind you every script seems to be, but isn't...
