Someone similar to Roger Allam

Trying to think of someone similar to Roger Allam?

Ta...!

No one does cynical and disinterested like Roger Allam. His Falstaff was was exceptional too. I don't think there is anyone else like him.

Build-wise? Serious acting-wise? Comedy-wise?

Oh thanks Harridan!

Basically, someone who encapsulates that awful sycophantic crawling and world-weary quality Manion does so well. Someone roughly the same sort of age, but chiefly someone who does that dry straight-humour. I'm thinking especially of the APP Britain scene in series 4, or whenever he has to face the press.

Alot of detail I know, but need suggestions of anyone remotely similar. Thanks!

Oh and did anything he's done in particular come to mind? Thanks!

Not sure I can pinpoint it, he just always reminds me of Roger Allam. Ciaran Hinds and Christopher Hitchens too. They all have a similar look, but they also all have an air about them that they know so much more than you think they do.

Incidentally, saw Allam's Falstaff at The Globe a few years back - it was masterful.

Teehee.

Oh! :$

Thanks this is all great. Very helpful. Any more suggestions are welcome too!

Why are you asking? Are you making a list of back-ups in case something happens to him?

ha no trying to write a treatment for a short film and need examples. Your recommendations were spot on by the way, thanks!
