Peep Show - Series 8 Page 6

I enjoyed it. I think high expectations for the show means that any average episode looks a bit crap in comparison to the best moments.

It's always going to be held to the very high standards of its past, but eight series in, for it still to be this good is a triumph. I mean, 8 SERIES!

Is Mark more mean spirited or just expressing it with more confidence?

Can people really die of the flu? That part got the biggest laugh from me.

Have you not seen the fear-mongering winter flu jab adverts?

He did seem quite excessively mean this ep, as opposed to his usual awkward inadvertent meanness.

Your loss

Yup but usually when other factors are included; I guess in this case if he had cancer or some other chronic condition it would have weakened him. More so if he was taking immunity suppressing medication.

Love takes no prisoners, and Gerrard was using his illness to get Dobby.

I thought it was a brilliant return, made me laugh out loud on at least 3 or 4 occasions which is virtually unheard of for me watching a sitcom in the last 10 years.

It's ok it was the lack of punctuation and capital letters where they were needed that threw me off. Anyway, Peep Show is funnier than Fresh Meat will ever be.

Totally agree.

That's 8 UK length series, so roughly 48 episodes. That's only two seasons for an American sitcom.

I know it's quality, not quantity, but heralding the 'extreme' run of Peep Show is a bit Little Englander compared to Friends, Frasier, etc.

Mark's 'I could just ask her how she feels' followed by the manic giggle to himself got the biggest laugh from me.

Two series of an American sitcom that will have had up to twenty different writers involved.

And very few British sitcoms go on this long, certainly these days, so it is quite an achievement.

Not to mention British comedy writers being so poorly paid they have to take in laundry, kill rats and clean chimneys whilst writing.

Then you must think Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps is the bestest sitcom ever-er. ;)
