Defining Episodes You Don't Remember Watching...

I know, needs an explanation...

Do you remember watching that defining episode of a sitcom? The episode where Compo went down the hill in a tin bath? When Rene Artois was shot (with wooden bullets) and came back as his twin brother? When the Goodies did their spoof of movies? No?

Do we remember things because of the back story, spoofs, or clips?

I've seen stuff so many times I can't remember when I watched them first.

I remember seeing the chandelier scene in OFAH on a clip show before I saw it properly, which rather spoiled it.

There seems to be many episodes of Hancock which you think you've watched, but probably it's only the lesser Paul Merton copy, such as the jury episode-("Magna Carta, the woman who closed the boozers at half past ten-did she die in vain?") and the Lady Don't Fall Backwards/Johnny Oxford episode. Sad really they don't repeat them.

Lady Don't Fall Backwards ? By D'Arcy Sarto ?

I know what you mean. I even saw Del Boy's fall through the bar before I watched that particular episode which is even more annoying. The chandelier thing was more or less predictable. But the bar thing wasn't.

Didn't she also write a lot of hospital romances under the name of Freda Simmons?

(No?)
