Read?
Oh, er... yes.
That explains the confusion then.
Look at his little 80s face! The very much still alive: Mike Read.
That's the bastard.
I've noticed something. The ITV Show The Comedians in the last nine months or so, three of the Comedians have died: Charlie Williams, Bernard Manning and now Mike Reid. You know how all the Coal Minors sadly died of Emphysemia (I think that's how u spell it), I was thinking there may have been something in the beer in the club that has killed them 30 years on. I should work for British Intellegence.
Who were the others?
Frank Carson, Jim Bowen, Russ Abbot, Ken Goodwin, Colin Crompton the list goes on,
Oh no! I like Russ Abbot.
In a way.
Dougie Brown was quite funny. He did a sitcom in the 70's with Sharon Duce which I enjoyed. It had a different feel - maybe because there was no audience. Not funny funny but enjoyable.
Quote: Charley @ July 30, 2007, 2:31 PMI saw him live at Butlins once & he got me up on stage. It was quite funny as he was very rude. In the end I whispered in his ear that I was only 14. He creased up & said he thought I was 19. He then came up with some stuff off the top of his head based on that. He brought me a lemonade at the end of the night.
I quite liked him.
So that explains a lot.
Does your son know?
By the way - I saw himlive too a couple of years ago and it was QUITE funny. I'd rather watch Al Murray or Frank Skinner though.
