Me And Mrs Jones

Why do they bother???

When I saw the title first I thought it was a sequel show to Rising Damp.

Thought this was excellent.

Might have been better as an hour long dramedy with a tragic subpot thrown in.

Groovy!
;)

I'm loving this series. It's identifiable, very funny, and beautifully filmed.

The trailers put me off, it looked awful but if Aaron and Zooo liked it then I may give it a chance.

It's very rom-com-y. Almost a new subgenre of sitcom in that respect, actually. It's certainly not an In With The Flynns-esque family comedy. If you're remotely tempted, I'd definitely recommend giving it a go.

It was ok. I think it has potential.

Wasn't sure at the start but I liked it. Slower burner than I expected, but I'll watch again.

Agree on the direction too, looked great.

Didn't really deliver for me. Amused in places.

If anything, kinda thought the character Gemma Jones was pretty annoying at times.

But bugger it, I'll give it another bash next week and see how it goes :)

There were some excellent bits - posting the handbag debris through the letterbox after having had the front door shut in his face, "you have lovely teeth" and the malevolent Inca - "I am shaved, smooth and hairless below the neck..like an otter"

I enjoyed reading this -

Pity that Harry has mixed up the titles!

For those of us that are short of time or don't have access to the Beeb because unlike commissioned sitcom writers we actually have enough time to be overseas on gap years, the script is on Writers' Room here:

First impressions: the actors had better be good.

Then again, IMHO the only funny thing about romantic comedy in general is how unconvincing the romance is.
