Alan Sugar

Eyo, thought I'd post a blog thing I've been doing. It's some schtick I've been writing in the persona of business magnate/TV grump Alan Sugar. Trying to write a thing a week. Mostly for my own amusement but it's a fun thing to do and I'd like to see what other people thought (/get some attention).

Anyways, it's THIS:

Tell me what you think, if you're so inclined.

I like this. This is top notch character comedy, which is bloody hard. You really have a great feel for the material, I especially like the image of him chasing his son down for a VHS.

The only issues are you ramble ever so slightly, so maybe knock a few more words out.

Also its a great character but its not realy Alan Sugar. It's a lot like him, he is strong enough to be his own man. Call him Arthur Sacharine or something and I reckon you could get it published online or even send your best to Viz.

Thanks! Yeah, the Alan Sugar thing is more an anchor than anything else; I'm not really trying to portray Sugar realistically I guess, it's just like a shortcut to save me having to say "here's the character, it's this guy" etc. Truth be told, I LOVE the idea of him somehow getting wind of it and grumbling about it on Twitter. Rambling-wise, these are fairly unedited; I tend to write them long hand, then type them up changing bits and bats. If I were to send off a portfolio, then a hearty edit would most certainly be in order. Cheers for reading.

Apparently cassette boy is in a shallow grave

It's excellent stuff, but I'd consider finding a unique character of your own to wed your writing to

its got legs
