Last of the Summer Conference Wine

Main Characters

Clegg
Cable
Foggy Hughs

On a rich green hillside three men look into the far distance at a church steeple.

Clegg - Ah I remember those far off halsion days when people used to believe every word I said. I was the nice one. The one everybody loved. How they laughed when we used hurtle down the hill in tut Libdem bathtub while dear old Vince would loose his trousers and would streak past in only his long Johns.

Cable - I told you we need clear yellow water between us and the Tories.

Foggy - I like yellow water yum yum.

Cable - Oh shut up Foggy when did you last have a policy idea.

Foggy - What about tax breaks on rent boys.

Cable - Oh shut up about that.

Clegg - Oh yes the mellow mist of autumn is cloaking the warm summer breeze in it steel hand.

Cable - Oh for Christes sake stop looking into the half distance and come up with an idea.

Clegg - Aye they were the days.
