Not all quite as awful as paedophilia, but there are some pretty distasteful ... well as it's not proven in court, let's call it 'gossip', about some of the names mentioned in the last half dozen posts or so...
A sidenote regarding the "why didn't the Police do anything?" - type comment:
I have a neighbour-from-Hell who, amongst many other things, has been exposing himself in public for at least the last 10 years. He has even been filmed so doing and the video posted on YouTube and other sites. Last week he exposed himself to three boys (ages 3-7) who were playing outside my block. The eldest told his Mum, who came out and witnessed it. When the council were informed, they told her that she should report it to the Police. She told them that she was scared to do so, as she felt intimidated by the man. (He is a really threatening so-and-so). She told me and I wrote to the Council and told them in no uncertain terms that I felt they had a moral and a civic obligation to report the incident to the Police. No reply as yet.
A few weeks ago he threatened (for the 3rd time) to stab me. I called the Police and he denied it. For the umpteenth time I heard the Police say: "There's nothing we can do - it's your word against his." I told them about the YouTube video, but when they learnt that it had been blocked by YouTube, they weren't interested, despite me telling them that it was elsewhere on the web and that the original filmer of the incident had published his contact details.
It seems that something really bad will have to happen before they lock the bloke up. "It's one word against the other" seems to be a contemporary mantra.
I thought flashing would have been taken seriously by the police, at the very least that guy needs to be questioned, he has committed a sex offence.

I'm a afraid this is the way of the world, we had a similar experience and nothing was done until after years of abuse, threats etc He was carted off to the funny farm in the end. He was back within three months shouting in our garden. Moved now thank God. But the Police just won't get involved until it's too late half the time.

And the same thing will happen that has happened over and over again with this bloke. He'll deny it and the Police will say: "It's one word against the other - there's nothing we can do." This has happened so many times over the last 20 years with this bloke - it's farcical. Do you see the parallels with the Savile case and Police inaction?
But there were witnesses to the flashing, he was flashing at kids who can tell what they saw to a trained officer. He should not be able to do that, especially in today's climate when the police are highly aware of sex abusers and their antics.
As for the physical threats, that is tricky as yes he would have to actually 'do' something. In that case I'd avoid him as he sounds very unstable and not someone you can ever hope to reason with.

Sounds great in theory - in practice, this doesn't happen, especially when the kids are aged 3 to 7, plus the fact that they live on a council estate, whose residents are usually treated as second class citizens by the majority of Police Officers. That's my empirical experience.
To reiterate: apart from witnesses' anecdotal evidence, there is video evidence of this bloke masturbating at a bus stop at midday in full daylight. It's been in the public domain for several months. The Police are aware of the evidence, but absolutely nothing has been done. I can't help thinking that if this were to have taken place in Whitehall, Mayfair or Kensington and Chelsea things would have been different.. but it didn't. It took place in a south coast council estate area and the local Police couldn't care less.
Lets face it, the police's motto is 'don't get involved unless you really have to'.
Like most employees who can pick their work they wil go for the easiest and quickest results.
