I drove 12 miles to the nearest record shop to where I live - HMV in Sutton which oncidentally will be closing on Sunday.

I intended buying the new Yes album but instead bought what I believe are Stevie Wonder's two best albums instead.

Talking Book and Inner Visions. Both crammed with loads of great songs. I think that was when he reached his creative peak. He made several great songs before that such as "I was made to love her" and soon after these he had an accident which made him write things like Isn't she lovely and Happy birthday.

I also bought the latest Imelda May album which I haven't yet played. I think if he doesn't yet know her then OR would like her too.

I'll give it a go on YT.

Is she Brian May's daughter? :)

No. An Irish (ish) sort of rockabilly singer.

Interesting doc on Northern Soul last Friday on BBC4.

I see former Yes singer Jon Anderson is making an album with violinist Jean Luc Ponty. Should be good.

I bought the 6 cd box set The 1971 Fillmore East Recordings by the Allman Brothers.
Blues rock heaven!

Did anyone hear the Mick Ronson documentary on Radio 2 last night? Very interesting. Probably on iPlayer.

NME's 100 Most Influential Artists: 100 - 51

Hmmm. Interesting.

Good that there's a few new ones I've never heard of which is right because I'm an old git but some of them I fear should be replaced by older acts purely because they're historically further back.

Nice to see Nick Lowe there and the Fall plus the Zombies who I've seen several times but only became recognised after they split in the 1960s.

What memories...

and a Chiswick discography too.

Rock Sharpe and the Razors became Rocky Sharpe and the Replays via Darts.

Johnny Moped were good and Skrewdriver were a skinhead band when they were out of fashion. Their first LP I had and instead of running at 33rpm it went at 45rpm like a single.

The Damned went there after leaving Stiff and had a few hit singles such as Love Song and Smash it Up.

Oh the Damned were wonderful.......

Skrewdriver were a nazi white power band!

C**ts!

Strange though that a label like Chiswick would release them. I guess they saw a gap in the market.
