He and Lemmy Kilmister have the fiercest bass sounds I've ever heard.

Revenge? Didn't you mean Monaco?

"What Do You Want From Me" is the best New Order song not written and performed by the mothership band.

Thats what I was thinking of. Who were Revenge? Or was I imagining them?

No, you weren't. Revenge was a band Hook formed in the 80s...before Monaco.

For me hot nights call for The Wild the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle,

I may have something - cassette maybe.

I love it. That's my favourite of his along with The Rising. There's a hint of Bruce - or Mark Knopfler - on Colin Blunstone's latest CD release. The song is Duncan Browne's Wild Places. I find CB a very likeable and original guy. He is holding up very well at 68. The original - a bit hit twice in the Netherlands, first in 1979 - is a bit special too. Both are here and also a recent five minute interview with Colin which sets the scene.

Wasn't very fond of The Rising. Except foe "Mary's Place". That song could have been from the first three or four records...wich were great.

I love Nothing Man and You're Missing.

I have most of their albums, but I didn't know this. :)

Nice of them to show the lyrics, but I can't see this ever becoming a karaoke standard. ;)

Saw them live around the time of "Nigel" - came to play at my uni.

One of the greats.

George, how fantastic. I never saw them live. They are one of the very few who would now get me back to the Pyramid. It doesn't though seem very likely. Hey, it's Saturday night. There's a dance tent over there.

I love this version from "Crackerjack".

I know they're miming, but the "Crackerjack" element tickles me.

Gordon, in case you're not familiar with it, "Crackerjack" was a kids show over here on BBC1:

If you were really lucky, you could win a "Crackerjack" pencil. Laughing out loud

Most comebacks tend to be disappointing, with a few exceptions, like The Gang Of Four - who also came to my uni around the same time.

Some irony there but difficult to put precisely into words. :)

Thanks to both of you for two great clips.

I didn't know what "Crackerjack" is...but coincidentally it gets mentioned in the Filthy, Rich & Catflap clip I posted earlier in the Mel Smith RIP-thread.

I never heard of those two bands/projects before. But especially the 60s one caught my interest.

Weird coincidence, as I haven't watched that clip yet.

Spooky.
