Her singing is fine, and the pouty face in the video is a bit grating, but it's the rhotacism that weally bothers me.

I think you'll find that's 'wotacism'.
Bless her, it was her thing - if you can call a speech impediment a 'thing'.
Is it a speech impediment, or a regional/learned manner of speech? I hear it in British celebrities so frequently (and in varying degrees of severity) that I've often wondered about it. I remember reading that Who bassist John Entwistle blended 'flend' and 'fwend' in the studio to approximate 'friend' when they were recording his song 'Whiskey Man'.
I think it's a speech impediment - a mild version of Johnathon Ross's weak 'R'.
It certainly became part of her unique 'sound'.
I always loved that song. I've still got the 12" version.
Don't start Monkhouse!
I guess it's not quite as bad as that bloody heathcliffe / Kathy bollocks
Hippy dippy drivel

Ringo Starr says he's not gonna give any more autographs. Not a great loss, if he writes the way he plays drums.

Michael Monkhouse
(Even thought this pointless rehashing is absolutely f**king shit)
It's getting a bit crazy. There was one year span that included FIVE major rehashes - Flaming Pie, All Things Must Pass, Gimme Some Truth, Plastic Ono Band and Get Back. But no one forces you to buy anything. Being a completist would be impossible anyway, and everything turns up on YouTube sooner or later. I normally buy the double pack and f**k the rest.
Ringo Starr is impotent. It don't come easy.
