Just watching Top of the Pops 1982 on BBC4. Elkie Brookes was such a classy singer and I may see her later this year at our local venue depending on when I finalise my holiday plans.
One question I have to ask. What was the point of John Oates? Daryl Hall and he had loads of great records but I'm sure Daryl could've done it on his own.
Useless bit of info, Daryl Hall has his own internet show called something like Live at Daryls House where he has random musicians come to his house and then they play a set in his garage and talk bollocks for a bit. It's really tacky yet strangely enjoyable.
Oates writes and sings some songs on their albums...but his songwriting is mediocre at best...his voice is nothing to write home about...*thinks hard*...sorry Chappers, I can't really answer your question. Maybe Daryl likes to have a dwarf on stage that looks like a gay pornstar from the 70s.
Please tell me you've seen the Big Train sketch that has Simon Pegg and Kevin Eldon as Hall and Oates visiting an inner city housing estate to sort out "the ruffians", it's gets even weirder when they try to rope in the Pretenders to help out.

Yes, someone here posted the YouTube link some years ago. Especially the scene where they're cleaning the public toilets made me laugh.
Catch of the day:
The Best Of UB40
Pampered Menial - Pavlov's Dog
John Barleycorn Must Die - Traffic
When The Eagle Flies - Traffic
Holy Diver Live - Dio
Live At The Fillmore East - Jefferson Airplane
I remember when I first heard Glad from John Barleycorn on a late night rock station in the early 70s - Radio Geronimo - and wanting to buy it. I think I finally got it about 20 years later.
Whatever happened to Radio Geronimo?
(Just about to Google it)
Happy birthday Wilko. 69 today. Well done for beating the odds.

I discovered it a year or two ago and the guest performer looked very familiar. Then I realized it was the kid who sang in my boss's son's teenage mod band 15 years earlier.
