The "definitive Yes line up"? Without Chris Squire? Pull the other one!

They've got as much right to the Yes name as the rest. Chris Squire is no longer with us so what do you expect?

Yes (no pun intended), but don't call it the "definitive line up". It'd be nice if Kenney Jones reunited with Townshend and Daltrey but this still wouldn't be the definitive Who line up.

It would be a big step down for the band, as Zak Starkey is a much more moon-like drummer than Kenney Jones could ever hope to be. As Daltrey said 30+ years ago, he's a nice guy and a good drummer, but he's not a good drummer for the Who.

I can't remember how old I was when I first saw Tommy but I was far too young. I auditioned for the stage show when it was first created around 2000 and will never forget being in front of the panel in London singing Sensation and being told to do it again with my eyes open. Ouch!

The Who rock and I'll never forget Roger Daltry at the London Olympics. The way he sang was the highlight of the whole event.

I saw Roger Daltrey do a disastrous gig a few years ago. The feedback was awful so I went to watch Adam Ant instead.

Happy Birthday, Ray Davies!

That's sad. The whole P-Funk thing was great.

Did anyone else attend Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow gig last night? I did, had an absolute blast from beginning to end. Shame he's doing no more (allegedly).

Nope, but did you see that long documentary about him recently? I think it was probably on Sky Arts, with extensive interviews with him about his life and career. He plays medieval music now that his wife sings. Quite a character.

Got it on DVD, interesting character, seemingly not the nicest or easier person to get on with, but the riffs the man has written!

As for Blackmore's Night, never listened to it until today (they gave away a free CD of it with the merchandise). Actually quite pleasant listening, will try to see it live.

Yes, he did many great things in Purple. I've started buying Rainbow CDs some years ago and I must say at least the first two records are top noth stuff as well, especially 'Rising'.
Never listened to one of his medieval records but I always read bad things about them.

Scathing about Bruce Springsteen for some reason (never explained), I remember. Love his work with Purple, and that was the section in the documentary I was most interested in.

In the clips the medieval stuff didn't look bad; more that the genre itself is an acquired taste, and I won't be listening to it soon either. :)

Had to respect his genuine passion for it though.
