RIP Keith Emerson. :(

As I said elsewhere, I have a feeling this is going to be "one of those years" I am afraid. :(

Yep.

Suicide. :O

Suicide. :O

Shit - Why? And there was me worrying that he was just a bit older than me.

"He died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Santa Monica police confirmed to the BBC."

He had some illness with his hands or something I read...

ELP made some great albums. I remember seeing the film of Pictures at an Exhibition where Emerson was sticking knives into his keyboards. A great showman and brilliant virtuoso.

RIP.

How was he able to shoot himself?

That's very sad. Not being able to play your instrument anymore must be hard for a musician but it's no reason to kill oneself. There so much more to life. Rush's Neal Peart for example has to stop touring after 40 years because of arthritis but he seems to be happy to concentrate more on his family. It's a shame that Keith didn't see any other reasons to live. :(

Don't be so bloody "naïve". There's a big difference between playing an instrument and pulling a trigger. Unimpressed

Happy Birthday, Chaka Khan (63)!

What a coincidence, yesterday I have found a boxset containing the first six Rufus feat. Chaka Khan albums in a bargain bin. 6 vinyl replicas for only 10 Swiss francs.

Edit: Actually, her Birthday was yesterday, which makes it an even bigger coincidence.

Just a thought: why not hire Roger Chapman for the job as AC/DC singer? A working class bloke with a bizarre, Bon Scott-like voice.

And a Leicester City fan too. He's probably up for it!
