Moone Boy - Series 1 Page 2

Got to catch up with the last two episodes of this, but it has indeed been great; and not quite what you'd expect. You hear that O'Dowd is playing a young boy's imaginary friend, and expect him to be causing all sorts of chaos in an over the top, Drop Dead Fred-esque manner.

It was ok. Stopped watching it after 3rd eppy. Nicely written & acted but boring. :(

Me also Charley.

Enjoyed ep01 :) But it's been pretty pants from then in. Ep02 drained me but I hung in for ep03 in hope it would pull it back.

Sadly not. So called it a day after that :(

I thought the whole series was great. Endearing characters, great cast and funny stories. As others have said, the imaginary friend character as reassuring and confidence-boosting (rather than mischievous) was a nice twist on the usual. Loved the bully's dad setting up the 'Dad's club' too, for the same reason. Really enjoyed it.

How is this a British sitcom?

Made by a British production company for British TV.

Not that the things in your post are of any great significance to the average person, even the British TV in question (BSkyB) is owned by a non-Brit Murdoch.

What does who funded it matter? It's an Irish sitcom.

Okay.

Ireland is part of the British Isles.

Ireland is part of the British Isles.

True but I dare you to say that in a pub in Dublin

It's a sitcom, a good new sitcom, that's all that matters really.

Last episode was really great, that chubby little friend is very funny. It could perhaps be a bit sharper, but it's been a really fun series and I'm looking forward to the next series. Sad that one of the best comedies of the year has been seen by so few people on here due to its SKY-ness.

Was over too quick for me! Very good and looking forward to the next lot. When's it going to be back do we think?

Total guess, but I expect spring 2013.

Really loved it. I loved Chris O'Dowd in The IT Crowd, so I really looked forward to see this and I wasn't disappointed. Very funny and charming, great actors and very funny, surreal ideas, denfinitely one of the best stcoms of the past years. Does anyone know when the second series will come out?

Expected in late Summer or early Autumn.

The town they partly film it in, Kilcoole (Boyle is used for street shots, but Kilcoole, in Wicklow is where the house is, though the school is another part of Wicklow, Wicklow used due to the interiors being done in Ardmore Studios, Bray, Wicklow).
