Getting the message

Ellie Simmonds Olympic Gold medallist is out with friends at a West End restaurant when she is spotted by a hack and his cameraman.

Reluctantly she gives him a quick interview

HACK
"If you were ever to swop your gold medals, what would it be for?"

ELLIE SIMMONDS
"I'd never swop them"

HACK
"Hypothetically, for the readers please"

ELLIE SIMMONDS
"I wouldn't swop them, but I'd give them up for the feeling I got as I won them! It was as though the whole country not only cheered, but that it was also coming to understand others. I got the sense that ignorance was abating and that ideas were changing. I even sensed an increase in tolerance to other people's lives and challenges,it was an amazing feeling"

HACK
"I'm sure it was princess I'm sure it was, now how about a snap for the readers?"

The hack then signals the photographer who is busy giving his phone number to a waitress.

The photographer walks over camera at the ready as he speaks.

PHOTOGRAPHER
"Right no offence ladies but Dwarves all look the same to me,so which one of you is the trampolinist?"

It might work bettet if the set-up establishes the photographer is really tall.

It's a reflection on how perceptions haven't altered that much despite the media guff surrounding the Paralympics, as such the height of the photographer is moot.

staying with the paralympics theme. huge credit to them and what they do. if you are familiar with I am spazdicus on channel 4 then on that show was one of the funniest but ironic sketches I have ever seen. the cross over of the paralympic torch between a blind man and an arm less woman. just fantastic!
