Forgotten Comedians Page 5

Irish comedian Mke Newman, always on TV in variety shows in the sixties and seventies. Never made the big time, didn't think he was much good. How about Dave Evans, father of Lee Evans? Mike Burton with the very severe haircut on The Comedians.

Bet no one's remembered this one . . . Ken Platt !

Peter Glaze of Crackerjack and Hancock fame.

Professional straight man and mugger (not the sort who steals old dears' handbags of course) I mean as in "D'oooooooh!" while pulling a face or a double take directly to camera Oliver Hardy styleee.

I remember enjoying Kelly Monteith's BBC show in the late 1970s (it won a Silver Rose at Montreux). I wonder how it would look now?

Has anyone on this thread ever seen the Scottish comic Dave Lewis (catchphrases "You're much too wee!" and "I've failed!")?

I worked at Pontins with my mum and dad in the late 70s/early 80s - they were friends with quite a few comedians in those days, a couple were on The Comedians TV show - Brynn Phillips and Dave Woolf. We also had Gary Wilmot over for dinner, he was a really nice bloke...
