Just one from me this week. Had a go at a pre-titles sketch, regarding the patent birthday of the bar code.
Newsjack - Series 7 Page 25
I'm really struggling to write anything this series. My head must be someplace else. Phooey.
Does anyone know which news sources are used most by the NJ production team?
Well, not to sound facetious but I would imagine the BBC. In terms on Newspapers it's hard to say but they probably go for any story which breaks most papers headlines.
Wouldn't have thought that their news sources were as important as what's recognised by the public at large. But maybe that's another reason I've been hitting a perfect zero with them...
It depends largely on the script editor's news source of choice come Tuesday morning. If they've not read any papers on the way in, BBC News is the easiest, as the web browsers no doubt start up there as the home page (I imagine).

Three one liners. What a show of pants. Been too busy - got first stand-up tryout tonight. Keeping my powder dry.

Break a leg.
Usually, I'm happier with my one-liners than with my sketches - however this week it's the other way around.
In total, I submitted three sketches and five one-liners.
page of intros/apps. My sketches this week were 1) Politics in genes 2) x factor scouted for auditions and 3) Ed miliband. Really struggled with sketches this week

For me it's normally the other way around, not because I'm unhappy with my sketches, just because I wrote probably my best ever Newsjack jokes (certainly a few corkers in there). 7 intros and 3 Jack Apps.

Try-out? Are you auditioning? Good luck!

I wrote a sketch about X Factor scouting as well.
mine wasn't very good - I did a from the archive
My other two sketches were about Kay Burley and One Direction fan fiction.
Is anyone going to the recording tonight?
If so, any information on the pre-title sequence sketch would be most appreciated. If there is one of course.
I hate Wednesdays.
