LARGE AUDITORIUM

A PANEL OF 3 JUDGES SIT IN FRONT OF THE STAGE

A LONG SLENDER CAT DRESSED IN JEANS AND A HOODIE TOP WALKS CONFIDENTLY ONTO THE STAGE

HE BREAKS INTO A ROUSING RENDITION OF BLUR’S ‘PARKLIFE’, HE SINGS NOTE PERFECT AND STRIDES AROUND THE STAGE LIKE HE WAS BORN TO BE THERE

HE FINISHES THE SONG…THUNDEROUS APPLAUSE ERUPTS THROUGHOUT THE AUDOTORIUM….. HE WAITS EXPECTANTLY

THE 3 JUDGES LOOK IN STUNNED AMAZEMENT AT THE CAT

JUDGE 1: I never imagined it was possible, a singing cat, truly amazing.

JUDGE 2: In all my days I’ve never seen anything like it, I don’t know what to say really.

JUDGE 3: That was outstanding…. (He’s interrupted by the cat)

CAT: But am I through to the next round?

JUDGE 1: Eh, next round of what?

CAT: (rolls his eyes at the judges question) The X Factor, what else?

JUDGE 1: But this is the Cat Show.

CAT STORMS OFF, MUTTERING TO HIMSELF: Bloody agent, can’t get nothing right.

This is a very good idea with a decent title, whilst the cat singing Park Life is in its self amusing, but the sketch as a whole needs strengthening to reach its full potential.

If you re jigged and gave the cat a street savvy saff London attitude were the cat argues with the panel and the booing audience about its singing skills only to discover it's in a cat show not the X Factor then the sketch for me would be better.

That said its a very good premise but cats are like marmite some love them others hate them so half your readers will be wanting something bad to happen to the cat.

I wrote it ages ago and just came across it last night, good suggestions Teddy, thanks!

I liked it. :D
