Balls in your court Joyce
As much as I love an ass pun, maybe this thread should be left for feedback on David's sketch.

Don't tell me that there was no freudian subtext going on with the big pole he was carrying around, and which he pointedly uses to beat Stotts with at the climax!!

I agree...and, for the record, they started it.

Bloody moderators!
Quote: Ben @ August 20 2012, 5:24 PM BSTYes, I liked this. I think the end-beating wasn't necessary though.
Having screened it in front of maybe 100 crowds, with and without the beat-down ending, I can tell you with some certainty that the version you're seeing gets the better reaction.
Quote: sootyj @ August 20 2012, 5:55 PM BSTMuch as I enjoyed it, it's worth remembering that much of the amusement is because we get the injokes.
I'd consider doing a simplified version just working on the jokes about the pole.
Not sure what you mean by "injokes". That the person being beaten is Stott? That's really just an extra joke for people who know him on the BCG surely? The fact that he grabs hold of the pole is still the centre of the scene.

Nah, it's fine, I don't mind the thread being bum-ped.
Still very funny as a stand-alone piece

So be it, they may have hit bottom anyway.

Exactly. The crap jokes are just to throw people off the scent. We are secretly working as undercover Pubic Relations executives!

You've blown it!
Maybe a 2-second shot at the start, of you rolling up the screen, so that it is clearer what the pole actually is.

Hmm...I think it's better as it is. It kind of makes you think...er...what's that and what could he possibly do with it that would make me laugh? But then...I like to be surprised. I saw him standing on the train and then it dawned on me as people were clutching at it (the pole)...nice revelation.
For about 20 seconds I thought you were carrying a javelin. The Olympics has a lot to answer for.
But yes, very amusing!
