Yes, it's been repeated by both Paramount and Comedy Central.

I think it was repeated about eight or so years ago on Comedy Central Extra in the early hours of the night. As far as I'm aware, it's never been shown again since and I don't think Sky have ever repeated.

It repeated late at night on Sky One until 2004 and then again on Sky One Mix (now called Sky Two) from 2006 to late 2008

I do wonder if they ever were overly serious in making this comedy anything particulary special. The amount of cliches and bad acting makes up the whole premise of the show.

Did they do this on purpose or was this their idea of the makings of a top comedy?

I do enjoy watching this show but as I previously mentioned - it is almost like a guilty pleasure of mine. It is a terrible sitcom but I often find a place in my heart for it!

It's true - it does seem quite clunky, but I still like it though. You'd think that two Oxford-educated comedians would have strived to achieve a better end result though, or perhaps they were being post modern or meta? I can never work these kinds of things out. It did star quite a lot of former EastEnders though - maybe it's because the pub was set in Notting Hill? The location has long gone now and has been replaced by ritzy apartments.

I'm not sure it was set in Notting Hill, was it? Just London.

(FWIW, the external pub locations are in Ladbroke Grove, just north of Notting Hill.)

Ah yeah, you're right - they never actually state exactly where it is. I always imagined that Guv and his red blazered chums existed in some kind of landlord-dominated parallel universe?

Laughing out loud Yes that sounds about right!

I know only three things about Ladbroke Grove:

1. You have to leap across the street
2. You can lose your life under a taxi cab
3. You've got to have eyes in your feet

Accordingly, I shall not be visiting Al Murray's establishment.

That's only if you're a one man band though.

How many catch phrases can you remember and can you match them to the character who spoke of them? I'll try and attempt as many as I can:

"Hold on a minute, Terry. Aren't you bared?"
".....he got Gary to....(humourous prank one liner)"

"Hold on, Bullet Head"

"Look at me!!!!....Don't look at me!"

"Oi, Prof! No French!"

"Ohhhh...grow up!"

"Free crips! Free crisps!"

"My crips! My beautiful crisps!"

"Damn these useless barman hands!"

"That is the woman I'm going to marry"

"Rarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!"

"I'm implying I've got a massive cock...kaboosh!"

"Look at his face! It's a picture"

"I was never confused,,,"

"I must never confuse.."

"I studied (random subject) last term"

"bloody students!"

"I'm cheeky me!"

"Helllllooooooooo!" - "helllooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo"

"So, guv-en-orrrr"

"that's coming out your wages, Steve!"

"that's what my last boyfriend said"

"listen to the question....."

"...still, it's been a year!"

"a mouths a mouth!"

Brilliant. Plus the visual ones such as Barry's hair dye.

Ha ha!! One of the best visuals for me.

Also appreciate any moment Al Murray is trying to stay in character by not laughing.
