it gets a 3.15 from me above average.
It has comparsions with Curb. CYE is in a differnt leauge. The main gut in CYE is Larry David and he has that thing he can say what he likes. Jack dee tries to say what he likes but he is British and not insecure for the right reasons. :)

See - I can identify with Jack Dee - but not some yank! I'll watch this over Curb any day.

i thought the overacting from the supporting comedy 'luvvies' and the trying to be non-stereotypical teenage daughter relationship kinda let it down. And the annoying american, the overlighting, the cheesily set up premise each week and JD just trying to be his morose grumpy self and failing badly. But besides that it was well...crappy considering it costs a shit load of money to produce (according to c4 who spend 90k max an episode on their comedy and they reckon this costs much more)

Oh yeah...1 on the Naffometer

With Jack Dee in the lead I suppose they have to overact to try and stand out.

I loved:

Image

I preferred him in My Parents Are Aliens.

I watched that today.
I wish he was my weird fake alien dad.

What you can't see in that picture is he's actually pouring acid onto his hand and regretting it.

Like Jack Dee, thought he played the part perfectly and the supporting cast were good, impressively filmed, well written....but it'll never escape the Curb tag, because it's....well, a remake of Curb.

I saw it for the first time last night, the spoons episode. Very, very good. Really dry humour. Excellently acted and great delivery. Lot's of familiar faces in it too. Thumbs Up.

Where is it on now?

BBC Four are showing repeats.

I like the paperboy episode.

That was ep 1 I think.

Oh bugger, I missed it then.

Ooh I also like the one with the picture of an ugly baby, if that happened...

Sounds familiar.
