Safari A Go Go

A wildebeest wanders down to a lake and takes a long slurp from the water.
The water ripples then clears.

WILDEBEEST (peering into the water)
(Terry Thomas voice) Well hellooo there.

HIS FACE STARES BACK AT HIM

Shy are we? Oh but you look verrry nice, new round here are you?

SILENCE

What do you say you slip into something more comfortable, and I'll meet you back here, say 8 O' clock? take a stroll down the savannah…

SILENCE

You could come back to mine after, I've got my own pad just down the plain you know, solid bamboo with a southerly aspect… (He leans in for a kiss)

A bullfrog pounces up and shatters the face in the water.

BULLFROG
(John Inman voice) I'm free big boy.

WILDEBEEST
Terribly sorry old chap, but I need to see my optician this evening on reflection.

It's neatly put together but not sure I entirely understand the joke.

I loved it up until the bullfrog came in Shandy. It needs a new ending in my humble opinion. :D

I admit I haven't really thought it through properly...I was going for he's asking his reflection out but the frog is under there all along.
Suggestions kindly welcome from fresh minds... :)

A lion invites him to dinner?

But the lion sleeps tonight.

I like the character, and felt the setting immediately.
Maybe have him making more and more outrageous suggestions to himself and in turn being coquettish until he shocks himself for the watery punch 'probably not on reflection'? Something like that?

I like! I wanted to use the water reference but wasn't sure how to put it so cheers for that amigo.

Yeah, like it up to the ending.

Could maybe have a croc leap out the water and grab him...

WILDEBEEST I say, steady on, you're keen + (some funny line about getting eaten I can't think of)
