BCG Fantasy Premier League 2012/13 Page 3

:) I played this a couple of years ago, boy did it get time consuming! I was competing against sons and several other chaps.

I have picked a team, but spend too much time on internet, so will not officially' be in anything.

Will keep my eye on this thread though!

This confirms what I feared - that you have to understand football to do well. Oh well. 450th out of 2 million is fantastic BTW.

Not really. Look at the Prem table on BBC Sport website. The teams at the bottom will concede goals, so pick players who are playing against them. On the same page there is a form guide to the right of the table (red/green/grey boxes). A team with a long line of reds (losses) will more than likely concede goals in the next game. Find out who they're playing from the fixture list and your mission is to figure out which of the strikers will score the most goals. Easy-peasy.

Cheers BTW. I was pretty smug myself. I was 150th up to the second last week and had to take a massive last week gamble. It didn't pay off...

Dan

But, Dan, surely you're limited to the amount of transfers each week? Anyway, I'll take a look at swapping strikers round next time and see how that works out.

My team did badly again this week. Aguero and Terry should be back for the next set of fixtures, so hopefully I'll rack some points up then.

Annoyingly, the original team I set up are doing a lot better. However, as I didn't think they were very good, I didn't enter them in any leagues and set up this new team who are gash.

Made my weekly transfer.
Freeing up 5.1 Million to maybe swap Suarez for Van persie next week.
I had Van Persie originally & then changed it at the last minute.

Congratulations to Gerry, who's shot up the table with a brilliant 97pts. Dan as well and Don Rushmore who got 74 and 69 points respectively.

I'm happy with my 70 points, and made a good move by bringing in Fletcher. Unfortunately I've suffered a bit by having a self-imposed ban on United and Chelsea players with everyone having Van Persie. Have also had Jaaskelainen since the season started and this week was the time to field him instead of Reina (ouch).

Also discovered you can field three forwards, which seems to be the thing to do.

Steve, I think you've been unlucky with Baines and Suarez, Ben - sort it out, you're bottom of the table!

I also think I picked a couple who aren't playing much.
Bad research.

Still, better than last season when I had Steed Malbranque.

That's why you need to be aware of who's playing who over the next three weeks and slowly rotate them around.

You can make as many transfers as you like each week, but each one (bar the first) costs you 4 points. The player that was in might only score 2 points so, if you see the new player scoring three against Southampton (and taking the shashest penalty) and getting a bonus 3 points, his fifteen-point haul makes you actually 9 points better off than not making the transfer.

Having said that, he might get injured after 8 minutes...

This is like insurance. Work out your risk/reward ratios.

Dan

;) You see guys never take in 'relationship' problems, if the WAG is on a bad one=they play awful, common sense, anyway-not revealing all my secrets!

Good luck Steve. Great name by the way.

No answer on this. No-one put a name any of these f**ks? Don't see why they should play in the league if they can't be arsed to post or identify themselves.

Paul's Mariners here.

Ok, Dan! Will give this a shot.

Cheers, Godot. Good luck with the next round of fixtures.

Well I seem to have got one of the top scores this week (so far), but sadly I'm going to lose 12 points as I made a few transfers to restructure my team and wasn't aware of the wildcard option. Dan's advice worked this week as I suspected Podolski would score against Southampton.

Yeah you've played a good game this week Ben, apart from those twelve points that need to come off! Don't know how you didn't know about the wild card option - this is my first season and I've already played mine. Anyway you've got a pretty good team there so you should start climbing the table. It makes me sad to see you on the bottom! Congratulations on 12000 posts as well.

Thanks, Godot. I might play the wildcard next week and make a few changes.

Cheers, Godot. Good luck with the next round of fixtures.

Thanks Don. I vote that we post a revised table with only you, me, Dan, Gerry, Steve, Ben, Shaggy and Percival Marsh on it as we are the only people posting in this thread. It seems pointless having a BCG league if no-one knows who all the players are and they don't even post on the BCG.
