Olympic Mayonais

I played for one season only on the Metro newspaper/online version in a mini-league with some mates (10 or so). Had a blast, and topped my mini-league and the cheapskates never bought me my prize - it was never specified what it would be, but was supposed to be something decent.

My team was the Wash And Go All Stars.

Like I said, had a blast, but at times I got a bit obsessive. Was thinking about transfers too much of the time, and it nearly took over my life.

Even though it was a few seasons ago, I still can't look at certain players now without remembering how they performed for me. Arjen Robben (from Chelsea) was hugely frustrating. He was expensive to buy, and never seemed to score, but I persisted with him, and he'd keep hitting the bar/post!!!

Whereas Morten Gamst Pedersen was an absolute star/bargain.

I also gave myself the deliberate handicap of not buying Arteta (Everton) when every other team in my league had him, just to prove how good I was. He had a prolific season of assists.

Happy memories, but I can't see myself playing again. Far too addictive!

Next season's game is now live chaps

We have a good month to agonise over our squad before furiously wildcarding after the opening weekend.
