That was a shrewd, informed decision. I looked at his fixture list and saw Reading, West Brom and Norwich, 3 ropey teams, so I signed him. He rewarded me by scoring 10, 1, 10.

How do you pick your players?

What's the point of this Don? You're not going to convince anyone that you've spotted some unique quality in Arteta. He's Arsenal's penalty taker and they've had five penalties awarded this season and he's taken them all and converted them and that's it. Two assists puts him in the bottom league of midfielders.

He's had a mediocre season and as I said before is cheaper to buy now than at the start.

Is there in truth no beauty Godot?

Don's had a terrific season since being rubbish & if it works it works.

His team may be as confusing as my attempt at a Peter Davison photofit
But I'm following his philosophy until the end of the season whatever it may be.

Hey I'm not rubbishing Don. Don's one of the few people on here I actually like. He's made some bone-headed decisions - like the Donageddon-three-defenders-from-the-same-team thing and he's been lucky but he did pick up Lambert at the right time and he spotted the good form of Gerrard very early.

Even if Don was a c**t I'd have respect for him because he actually takes the time to post on the FF thread and start and take part in discussions.

Not naming any names...

Don't be coy Steve, get it in the Who thread.

Same to you, buddy. I always enjoy reading your posts.

I'd have to say that my Gamble worked ok
16 pts spent but a decent enough points haul to make it worthwhile.

*Sigh* Well done to Steve who got joint highest points this week. (Well done to Ben for last week)

*Hands Steve a tiny plastic trophy from a cobblers under a railway arch*

Anyone notice that I skilfully engineered my points tally of 33 to match Game Week 33?

That was impressive. Not a first though. Ben performed the same skill in Week 6.

Laughing out loud

Well done to Gerry for breaking the 2,000 mark!

Cheers Ben. I splashed out on three transfers to celebrate; naturally Bale was announced as fit shortly after I confirmed.

Now that is funny! Factor in the blank gameweek and Bale misses ONE game but you all sold him - the number one nailed-on, must-have player in the league.

I don't know why you sold him Gerry - it's not like you need the money and you've carried Begovic for weeks.

You probably wouldn't fancy Tottenham against City but Bale will have even more drugs (allegedly) in his system than normal and I predict will literally EAT all of the City players like Ritz crackers.

The injury looked absolutely horrific, If I was a betting man, and I am*, I'd have put my house on him being out for the season.

* I am a prolific bettor, the 'man' part remains contentious.

Well I get that - I thought the same. But what did you have to gain by selling him immediately and what did you have to lose by waiting a couple of days till the deadline? Nothing. Maybe 0.1m.

Surely a betting man would have weighed this up.

Where's the hindsight in this? The injury looked very bad. You sold him within minutes of it happening. Within two days and BEFORE the next league match deadline Tottenham said the injury was worse than it looked and he would be out for two weeks.

So I didn't sell him. There's no hindsight, just PATIENCE.
