Dan, can you give a quick explanation of how you get points etc. I've never played FF.

Buy a team of 2 keepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders, 3 strikers for a total of £100 million or less that play in any number of formations (with 3 subs) per week.
If your striker scores, 4 points; midfielder 5 points, defender 6 pts, keeper 7 pts.
4 pts for a clean sheet for defenders and keepers, 1 pt midfielder (have to play 80 mins of the game)
3 pts for an assist.
Bonus points in each game for the 'performers': 3 for best player, 2 for next best, 1 for next best.
-3 for a sending off, -1 for a yellow card, 1 pt for playing, 1 extra point for playing more than 60 minutes.
1 free transfer per week (subject to not going over spending limits), others cost you 4pts.
Captain gets double points.

You can make unlimited transfers until the opening day of the season Mr T, plenty of time to tinker yet.
Had a bit of a tinker but I can't do what I want. I wanted David Silva but I've already got Kompany, Hart and Aguero.
Marvellous, my previous two years with work have involved me miraculously finishing 1st then 3rd, I imagine this season my decline will continue....

I wish I enjoyed football just to be able to play this game. But I have no idea what anything is. Except that the ball goes in the goal.
I love football, but I always find these games too time consuming/dull.

I'm always rubbish at these, but have joined up. Do the subs pick up points as well? I bought three cheapsters to use as subs, so am hoping they're not too important...
I see my boys are steaming up the BCG table with 45pts. It seems those midnight training sessions have paid off - not to mention the death threats.

No. Your subs get used (in the order they're picked) if any of your players don't play. If, however, a player plays for even 1 minute (pretty much Sergio Aguero's situation on Sunday!), that counts and your sub (who scored a hattrick with four assists) stays on the bench.
