Personality test Page 6

I don't want to watch romantic films that have no other merits, I won't wear make-up, I won't wear uncomfortable shoes, I don't have any particular affection for puppies and kittens etc. etc.

Oi, that's my personality. Get your own you thieving wench! ;)

I'm with Kenneth on this one, these online personality tests are pure bunkem with a massive dollop of hokem. They prey on insecurities and flatter the ego.

Besides, at any moment in life, you can always answers Yes and No to every question depending on the circumstances.

'Do you tackle problems conventionally instead of looking for a new approach?' - Depends on the friggin problem - if it's emptying the hoover bag, then yes I am very conventional, if it's trying to design a new type of suspension bridge, then no, I look for a new approach.

It is a bunch of arse nuggety twaddle.

I'm INFP, seems to be fancy talk for soft as clarts, which is a fair enough assessment.

Bugger!

I suppose I find the female gender stereotype more infuriating than many women because it is completely at odds with my personality type. I hate being complimented on my appearance and expected to gush and feel special because someone likes the colour that my eyes happen to be. I don't want to watch romantic films that have no other merits, I won't wear make-up, I won't wear uncomfortable shoes, I don't have any particular affection for puppies and kittens etc. etc. Men aren't expected to be irrational, women are expected to be fauning, prissy nincompoops.

Yes, I was going to say much the same thing. Although I do like a few (very few) girly things. Myers-Briggs can feel like a relief when you've spent your life being put in the 'female' category but you don't seem to have the qualities people associate with that.

Like it or not, we all put people in categories. Myers-Briggs just gives us a different way of defining ourselves, which can be closer to how we are than all the traditional ones (gender, class, job, etc). I think it can be beneficial to be able to think about yourself in a different way. But I recognise that lots of people have better things to do (many INTJs don't get out very much).

INTJ though I wanted to answer 'maybe' quite a lot.

ENFJ

Abraham Lincoln Ronald Reagan Barack Obama

I don't usually go in for these sorts of things, but honestly it felt extremely accurate. F**k being a counsellor though.

INFP Had Homer and Shakespeare so not bad! three lots of scores were in thirties one eleven- am I odd? (don't answer)

Lots of you are extroverts, I love these tests!

Am I the only ISFP?

@kenneth
Try this instead: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ENTJ

That website looks very wanky.

That's won me over. Flattery will do that.

I think this page: http://www.personalitypage.com/html/portraits.html and Wikipedia do a better job of describing the types than the pages the quiz links to.

I had a personality analysis

Turns out I haven't got one.

:D OH my God ENTJ! joining the ranks- done it twice, does seem more 'Me'.

These tests would be handy if they could help employers and school councils to weed out psychopaths and pedophiles, though the questions would probably have to be a little more specific:

When you pass by a group of young children in a swimming pool, do you:
a) Worry they might drown?
b) Wonder what percentage of the water is urine?
c) Think about shagging them?
d) Regret that you never learnt to swim?

Note: Choose the answer that most applies to you. If none apply, choose one anyway, cos this is like a really rigorous and meticulous scientific test.

Booyah!

The problem with this test is that it doesn't tell you anything you don't already know. If you answer 'no' to "Do you love being the centre of attention?", is it any surprise that you're not an extrovert? You might as well ask 'are you an extrovert,' if 'yes', then you are an extrovert.

You'd think that in the 21st century, there would be a sophisticated computerised test which could pick up on the subtleties of your replies instead of subjecting you to a crude yes/no test based on old thinking (which itself was not formulated with reference to any actual science).
